The Heart and Vascular Center is a collaboration between cardiology, radiology, and vascular surgery. This ensures excellent diagnostic procedures and state-of-the-art treatment options for all diseases of the heart and blood vessels.
The Department of Internal Medicine with a focus on Cardiology at St. Petrus Hospital, part of the Bonn Community Hospital, provides care for patients with all forms of acute and chronic cardiovascular diseases.
State-of-the-art equipment offers comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic options for the treatment of coronary artery disease, heart failure, and cardiac arrhythmias. Non-invasive diagnostics, including echocardiography, long-term monitoring, exercise tests, and specialized cardiological functional diagnostics (stress echocardiography, MRI, CT scan), are used as needed to plan further necessary interventions.
A qualified team of physicians and nurses performs all invasive procedures, such as balloon angioplasty and stent implantation, as well as other specialized procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. The department also works closely with the emergency medical services and other hospitals throughout the region and serves as a point of contact for the treatment of acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Another focus is on the implantation of pacemakers and special defibrillators.
